The Use Case Shed

Privacy & measurement

Advertiser inquiries are saved for private owner review. Basic activity measurement is enabled, with the privacy exclusions and limits described below.

Advertiser inquiries

The form stores your project name, reply email, optional website, message and submission/review times in the owner’s private inbox. It does not send email, subscribe you to a list, take payment or reserve a placement. The owner may use your reply email to respond after review. Do not include payment details, identity documents or other sensitive information.

A random one-hour cookie helps limit repeated submissions. Only its hash is stored, not an IP address or browser fingerprint. Inquiry records older than 90 days are removed when another inquiry is submitted; inactive storage can retain them longer. The owner can view only the most recent 100 inquiries from the past 90 days through this inbox.

Basic activity counts

The Shed counts approximate visits, source-link clicks and, historically, owner-ad clicks. A timestamp in tab storage limits visit counting to once per 30 minutes. Click requests include an allowed event name and a random event ID. Short-lived hashes reject duplicates. No names, email addresses, message text, calculator inputs, raw IP addresses, referrers or full URLs are sent to the measurement endpoint.

Owner sessions, recognized bots, automated browsers, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are excluded. Counts can miss or overcount activity; they are not unique people, sales or audited advertising reach. Daily totals are kept for 90 days; receipt hashes through the next calendar day. Cleanup runs on later accepted events. Hosting still handles network requests under its own policies.
